GutenDisplay: Delete Data or Disconnect

Last updated: November 2, 2026

GutenDisplay is provided by Printcent Van Gogh LLC, doing business as Gutenberg Armory. Contact printcentvangogh@gutenbergarmory.com for privacy and deletion requests.

GutenDisplay does not maintain a separate username/password account or a central calendar-event database. Connecting Google creates an authorization relationship with Google. Removing a local calendar, revoking Google access, and deleting support correspondence are separate actions.

Remove a calendar from the TV

  1. Open GutenDisplay and choose Calendars.
  2. Find the saved calendar and select Remove, then Confirm removal.
  3. Repeat for any other sources you want to remove.

This removes that source's cached calendar data and locally saved authorization material from active app storage. It does not delete the calendar or events at Google or another provider. It does not automatically revoke the Google permission grant.

To erase all GutenDisplay app data and display preferences, use the Fire TV app settings to Clear data, or uninstall the app. These are destructive actions; you will need to add calendars again. Original .ics files and files you copied to USB drives, computers or other folders must be deleted separately if you no longer want them.

Revoke Google access from any browser

You can do this without installing or reopening GutenDisplay:

  1. Visit your Google Account connections.
  2. Sign into the Google Account you connected to GutenDisplay.
  3. Select GutenDisplay and use Google's option to remove its connection or access.

This stops future access under that Google grant. Revocation may affect other GutenDisplay links for the same Google Account. Google manages the grant; it does not remotely erase calendar information already cached on a TV. To remove that cache, also remove the source or clear app data on the device. Do not delete your Google Account or original calendar to disconnect GutenDisplay.

Request deletion without access to the app

Email printcentvangogh@gutenbergarmory.com with the subject GutenDisplay data deletion request. No app download, subscription or separate GutenDisplay login is required to send a request.

Describe the information you want removed, such as a support conversation you previously sent us. We will identify information we control, explain any verification needed, and handle the request under applicable law. We do not charge a fee for an ordinary deletion request. Do not send passwords, tokens, private feed URLs or authorization/pairing files.

If you no longer have the TV, revoke access using Google's website above. We can handle operator-held information such as support correspondence, but we cannot remotely wipe a disconnected or inaccessible TV. Secure the device or arrange device data erasure before resale or transfer whenever possible.

What may remain

  • Local copies remain on devices or exported files until removed there. Google revocation and an email request do not erase those copies automatically.
  • Temporary authorization sessions expire after 15 minutes and security counters are short-lived. Active session records are cleared or expire as described in the Privacy Policy; infrastructure recovery copies can remain for provider retention periods.
  • Google and calendar-feed providers retain the original calendar under their own controls. This page does not delete their records.
  • We may retain limited correspondence or records where required for legal obligations or necessary security purposes; we will explain applicable limits when responding to a request.
